A Thousand Welcomes at MS Pitztal
As part of the Tiroler Kulturservice programme, MS Pitztal recently had the pleasure of welcoming Irish journalist Tommy Standún with a warm “A thousand welcomes.”
Under the title “The Irish and Their English!”, Tommy Standún took the students of the 4th grade AHS groups on an engaging two-hour journey into Irish culture. Through stories, music, language, sports, and plenty of “craic” (the Irish word for fun and good company), the students gained fascinating insights into everyday life in Ireland—especially among Irish teenagers.
The workshop also explored Ireland’s well-known love-hate relationship with Britain. Students were encouraged to try the some kinds of sports themselves too.
Tommy Standún, an Irish journalist based in Innsbruck, managed to bring Ireland closer to our students in an interactive, humorous, and memorable way.
A big thank you to the Tiroler Kulturservice and to Tommy Standún for this wonderful experience—it was truly inspiring and great fun!
